The Nina Camacho Summer Scholarship Program

Named in honor of Nina Camacho, whose belief in the power of opportunity continues to open doors for Peninsula Bridge scholars

A new fund that makes it possible for Peninsula Bridge scholars to say yes to meaningful summer internships and work experiences — even when those opportunities are unpaid or pay very little.

Why this scholarship exists

Some of the most valuable summer experiences — research positions, internships at nonprofits, government offices, and small organizations, hands-on roles in fields students are exploring as future careers — are often unpaid or minimally paid. For students who need to earn money over the summer, those opportunities can be out of reach, no matter how talented or motivated they are.

The Nina Camacho Summer Scholarship Program closes that gap. It allows Peninsula Bridge scholars to pursue the internships and work experiences that will shape their education and career path, without having to choose between gaining experience and earning income.
