From a 5-Week Summer Program to a 13-Year Commitment
Peninsula Bridge was founded in 1989 as a 5-week summer program with the goal of providing equal educational access to motivated children. Our first academic summer program, offered in 1990, had 26 students from the Ravenswood School District. In 2015, Peninsula Bridge approved a new strategic plan to expand its academic programming throughout the year and increase its focus on social-emotional development. As part of this plan, we merged with Building Futures Now to maximize our impact on under-resourced and first-generation students on the Peninsula. Today, we support over 960 scholars year-round, from 4th grade through college.
