The Search
Peninsula Bridge -- a Bay Area non-profit in its third decade of creating opportunities to improve educational access and creating student excitement about their education -- is growing! We seek a Program Associate to join our fast-paced, small multi-tasking team dedicated to promoting academic and personal success for motivated middle school students from under-resourced communities by providing tuition-free rigorous and engaging summer programs on independent school campuses which facilitates students' access to the college track.
The Position
The Program Associate reports directly to the Executive Director and is a key link for our students, families and public school partners. The Program Associate must have a balanced and comprehensive understanding of all the components of the work of Peninsula Bridge and be able to move fluidly between them. The position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and attention to detail.
Principal Responsibilities
The principal responsibilities of the Program Associate include the following:
· Serve as Program Registrar which includes coordinating the recruiting and registration process with students, families and partner schools, and maintaining the student database
· Collaborate with Executive Director in creating and implementing new programs
· Support program delivery by researching and sharing best practices for summer and OST programming, work with vendors, collaborate with Site Directors and other partner school personnel as appropriate
· Assist in program evaluation efforts by researching and sharing best practices, collecting data from programs, school districts, et al., preparing reports, etc.
· Research grant opportunities and help write proposals as needed
· Coordinate and attend meetings as required, taking minutes as necessary
Other responsibilities include
· Support Development efforts as needed
· Assist with events
· Record and retrieve data as needed from relational database
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, flexible, creative, and able to work as a team member with people at all organizational levels.
· Bachelor's degree required
· Fluent spoken and written Spanish and English required
· Experience working with communities of color, especially youth
· Three to five years of professional work experience with progressive responsibility
· Excellent written and verbal skills
· Excellent computer skills
· Generosity of spirit, flexibility and a good sense of humor
· The ability to listen intentionally
