Peninsula Bridge has a very clear scope: helping motivated middle school students from select schools in the Ravenswood, Redwood City and San Mateo-Foster City districts perform their best academically and personally. Each year we welcome a new cohort of motivated students to our tuition-free program. Once we accept a student into the program, we embrace his or her family by offering three distinct support services: our Summer Program, our Academic Year Program and our Parent Program.
Peninsula Bridge connects our students with the resources for them to successfully pass Algebra I in 8th grade and enroll in a college-prep English course in 9th grade, thereby getting students onto a rigorous academic track in high school that opens the door to new opportunities and options beyond high school. We also act as a bridge for our students to participate in enrichment activities such as art, music and sports--programs most often cut in under-resourced schools--during the summer and the school year.
Many Peninsula Bridge alumni serve as role models by becoming teaching assistants in the summer program, continuing the cycle of success in their families and communities.
