Peninsula Bridge consistently looks for creative ways to involve local organizations in our programing. Leading Bay Area corporations, non-profits and foundations have chosen to support our students in a myriad of ways. Read more about these partnerships, and see how you can get involved, below.

Corporate
Leading corporations in the Bay Area play a vital role in supporting Peninsula Bridge students through financial support and employee engagement events. Our students are eager to learn more about the world around them. Peninsula Bridge students learn about career opportunities and why education matters by visiting premier Bay Area companies like Thumbtack, Yelp, Yahoo, Pizza My Heart, and Google. Companies like DPR Construction lead hands-on student learning opportunities like bridge building. Other corporate partners like DELL provides essential technology support for our students and Avidbank offer job internships so that students can learn about the banking business. If you are interested in becoming a corporate partner, please contact Randi Shafton, Co-Executive Director.

Campus Partners
Peninsula Bridge’s out-of-school time programs takes place on the campuses of seven leading Bay Area independent schools, including Castilleja, Crystal Springs Uplands, Menlo School, The Nueva School, Sacred Heart Schools, St. Matthews Episcopal Day School, and Woodside Priory. The schools provide faculty and facilities for our summer and year round programs and their heads of school serve on our Board of Directors. The generous in-kind support of these school partners is critical to Peninsula Bridge's model and success.

Out-of-School-Time Collaborative
Peninsula Bridge was proud to be part of the Silicon Valley Out of School Time Collaborative. The Collaborative was comprised of eight Out-of-School-Time providers (ACE Charter School, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Breakthrough Silicon Valley, College Track, East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring, Peninsula Bridge, Silicon Valley Children's Fund, and Bay Area After School) and three funders (Sand Hill Foundation, Sobrato Foundation and the David & Lucile Packard Foundation). The collaborative integrated non-cognitive skill development in our out-of-school programs.

Middle School Partners
Peninsula Bridge partners with over (CHECK) 40 public and independent middle schools from San Mateo to Mountain View to recruit and support high-achieving students for our program. Teachers and principals identify motivated students who are eligible for "Free or Reduced Lunch" to participate in our 12-year program. Most Peninsula Bridge students remain students at their home schools and use the knowledge and skills they gain at Peninsula Bridge to contribute and become change agents at their schools and communities.

High School Partners:
Peninsula Bridge high school students are enrolled in (CHECK) 20 Bay Area public and independent high schools. Our staff works closely with the teams at these schools to provide coordinated support for our High School Academy students as needed.

Corporate Highlights

We want to thank Arcus Biosciences for providing internships for ten Peninsula Bridge high school and college students this summer. Our Peninsula Bridge students will gain invaluable exposure to the biotech industry. Arcus is a leader in biotechnology innovation discovering new cancer therapeutics. Our students will learn about innovative cancer immunotherapies, medicinal chemistry, immunology, drug development, finance, and business development. This is a unique career exposure opportunity for our students to learn the ins and outs of the biotech industry in the Bay Area, home to the largest concentration of biotech companies in the world.
Dr. Juan Jaen, co-founder and President of Arcus Biosciences, explains:

“At Arcus, we feel very strongly that the future success of companies in any highly competitive field of science or technology, such as the life sciences, requires that we identify and nurture inquisitive talent no matter where it might be found. Creativity and hard work are found in equal measure across all segments of our population. It is our privilege to be able to partner with Peninsula Bridge to foster such qualities in some of their brightest students.”
